Buckinghamshire pop rockers OCASAN have released their third part of a collector’s series of EPs, ‘Confessions.’ This final EP makes up and completes the bands second album release ‘Elixir’. ‘Confessions’ and is the darkest of the three.
Having toured the UK, Europe and even reached as far as Russia and Canada, this relentless trio have already worked with the likes of The Prodigy and The Feeling, so it doesn’t take much to realise that their name is one that you should remember.
Title track ‘Confessions’ opens up this EP packing quite a punch. An explosive start with an upbeat melody completely opposes the dark lyrics delivered by vocalist Nick Burns. None the less, this track is a highlight of pop punk at it’s best and easily the strongest track on the record. Seamlessly rolling on into ‘Dark Cloud,’ we’re greeted with another passionately tempered song, fast paced and displaying an array of influences from the likes of Don Broco. This pop anthem is sure to be one of the bands biggest hits, at least with us anyway.
Next up ‘Invincible’ strikes an unusual set of chords and a circling set of distorted riffs gives this song an 80’s rock band vibe but then swiftly, the guitar falls into a staccato rhythm and the melody takes an unexpected turn, reminding us mildly of Panic At The Disco. Every album needs a party track and this is OCASAN’s. Lastly ‘Parasite’ leads us out with an impressive set of big riffs and a strong set of backing vocals, giving this song a fiery lease of life. However after hearing this jaw-dropping EP, we are all too eager to hear from these boys again, sooner rather than later.
