Most People Only Know One Song By These Artists But It Doesn’t Matter As They Rocked Download
Most people may only know one track by Andrew WK and 36 Crazyfists, but that didn’t matter at Download as they rocked their sets! Here’s what we thought of them!
So what if you only know ‘Party Hard’? Truthfully, an Andrew WK set requires no knowledge of anything he’s ever done. All you need is a positive attitude and be ready to have the most fun you have ever had in your entire life in the space of 40 minutes. And that is exactly what happened. From the opening moment of ‘It’s Time To Party’to the closing guitar ring of ‘Party Hard’ the set was a whirlwind of energy, joy and party that was so contagious you couldn’t help but come along for the ride. Creating what was possibly the happiest mosh pit ever seen at Download, there were no ego’s, no attitude just the will to have the best time possible with everyone around you invited in unity to Andrew WK’s ultimate party. If Andrew WK was hired by the U.S government he could probably solve world peace. Incredible stuff! 5/5

36 Crazyfists- Main Stage
Unless you were really into the early 00’s nu-metal scene, a lot of younger Download fans will probably just know 36 Crazy Fists for there 2002 hit ‘Slit Wrist Theory’ which has become a staple of rock clubs across the world. With any band known mainly for one big hit they can sometimes be easy to write off, but the band’s appearance on Download’s Main Stage certainly proved they are more than a one trick pony.
As a live act it is clear that over the years they have honed their craft to perfection and really showed today’s audience why they are still worthy of your attention. The band obviously still love performing as they put everything they had into every chord and beat and were definitely one of the biggest surprises of the weekend. Maybe it’s time to dig through their back catalogue and see what we have been missing out on. 4/5
