Mali Music is having a whirlwind of a time. From American Idol to having a number two album on the Billboard Top R&B and Hip Hop. Mali has not come as a pastor but someone who has a spiritual message about life. The twenty six year old RCA signee is making headlines everywhere.
The album starts off with ‘No Fun Alone’ has he sings ‘make sure somebody cares for you’. You can hear his soul reaching out through his words. ‘Ready To Aim’ captures the moment. The striking of the drums builds up the song as he belts out the words ‘fire’. He then starts rapping with the beat playing as a backdrop. The claps instantly has you nodding your head. It feels like a rock song at times. It then leads into ‘Beautiful’ which is beautiful in itself. The calmness and the serenity regales the track as he delicately sings ‘I’ll put my lighter in the air for you’. The heaviness of love is represented by the strong thumps on the instruments on the next song ‘Heavy Love’. The riffs of the piano and guitar are climax together.
On the fifth song ‘Fight For You’ declares his love for himself on hiphop beat as he sings ‘I won’t let them take you’. The message is powerful and delivered honestly. The album slows down with ‘Walking Shoes’ which is not as heavy the other tracks. He has gone down for the Motown and Blues lane for this track. He changes the pace with the next track ‘One’ which has a little Bob Marley influence. The reggae will have you two stepping and singing ‘we must be one’. The song ends with Caribbean instruments. On ‘Make It To Heaven’. Mali Music gets into his ‘Jay Z‘ element and delivers well through his verses.
Mali turns very soulful with the next track ‘Little Lady’. He becomes a poet on this track as he’s speaks about young ladies who have their hearts broken. He uses famous lullaby’s such ‘gently down the street’ and ‘life is but a dream’. ‘Johnny and Donna’ is a crispy, soft ballad. The emotions are convey with the piano melodies. Mali Music reminds us that ‘life is full of twirls’ and ‘life is full of twists’. The album ends with ‘I Believe’ where Mali Music express his emotions about the world, suicides and genocide.
This album is a real testimony about his raw talent. He is able to convey stories and deliver passionately his message. Mali Is is a true work of art and is effortlessly fantastic.
