Britain’s Got Talent finalists Loveable Rogues have released a four-track EP featuring a mixture of original and cover tracks.

The EP begins with ‘Honest‘, which the boys used as their performance track for the Britain’s Got Talent final back in 2012. It has a chilled, reggae feel with heartfelt lyrics and is a great choice for the title track, showcasing the boys’ superb songwriting skills. It then goes into a cover of Charles & Eddie’s ‘Would I Lie To You’, stripped back to being accompanied by a single acoustic guitar. A bit of a strange choice, but a failsafe filler track that will surely keep up listener interest.

The penultimate track, entitled ‘Say You Love Me‘, is a sweet ballad about wooing crushes and finding the one. Understated and easy on the ears, this is the one track on the EP that takes you back to their first audition song on, ‘Lovesick‘, with its typically British references such as ending a date with a kebab! The EP ends with ‘The Only One Who Knows‘, another ballad that highlights Te Qhairo’s voice excellently. Not exactly the most exciting of songs, but it’s nice to see a contrast from their usual material. It features Tich, an up and coming British artist known for her track ‘Dumb‘, which adds a much-needed breath of fresh air into the song.

Overall it’s a promising EP, although after ‘What A Night‘ it all seems a bit serious and out of character for the trio. ‘Honest’ is available to purchase now.
