Band: Heart In Hand
Venue: The 27 Club, Torquay
Date: 28th August 2011
After hearing so much hype about these guys set at this years Hevy festival, HTF headed down to see them live in action at our local venue, The 27 Club. Being such an intimate venue and such a large shift from the capacity of a festival performance, we were expecting this to be next level sweaty.
Lead vocalist, Charlie Holmes’ on stage persona is at the up most impressive, in fact he was not even on stage for most of the bands performance. He spent the set list stomping his way around the room and getting in the faces of his audience; such an exciting perspective from the eyes of his onlookers. He mounted the bar at moments and strutted up and down with distinct attitude, but not enough to warrant him an arrogant trophy. It was beyond entertaining.
The whole band were on top form and the small room struggled to cope with the intense sound they were producing.
Overall it was clear why these guys have developed such an awesome reputation. They are an incredible live suit who comfortably entertain audiences up and down the country with ease. By completely smashing Torquay in the face they earned a distinctive wow factor that is needed within all live music these days. Well done guys, hit Devon again soon.
