Heaven’s Basement bring a party atmosphere to Glasgow, in support of The Pretty Reckless. In fact, tonight belongs to Heaven’s basement, upstaging every act on the bill with their slick brand of classic rock – with a modern twist.
Kicking off their set with the infectiously catchy ‘Welcome Home‘, it’s clear as day, Heaven’s Basement will, one day headline this venue, judging by their ability to get every soul in the room eating out of the palm of frontman, Aaron Buchanan‘s hand.
Perhaps it’s their unignorable stage presence that manages to tear tonight’s crowd away from the bar and onto the floor, or maybe it’s the ballsy, gutsy nature of the band’s sound. Well, both, it seems, as that amazing groove on, ‘Fire, Fire‘, rings out throughout the room. The Academy descends into a sea of party animals. And we doubt Heaven’s Basement would have it any other way, right?

Tonight he takes centre stage at multiple points throughout the set, most memorably so on the band’s grand finale, ‘Executioners Day,’ to great avail.
The perplexing thing about Heaven’s Basement is, that despite being around since 2009, they still remain largely underrated. It’s all the more perplexing when you take into account just how strong their sound is, and just how tight their live shows are. If you haven’t heard of Heaven’s Basement yet, we urge you to pick up a ticket to one of their shows, and let them show you how modern day rock should be done. We guarantee, you’ll leave a firm fan.
P.S, Aaron, smooth moves.
