It's getting to that time of the year again... The annual event known as Record Store Day returns on April 16th for it's ninth year. For those of you who don't know, the day celebrates the culture of independently owned records stores and brings these stores, fans and artists together across the world.

Each year, various special limited-edition consumer formats are pressed and made available for purchase. This year sees releases from Gerard Way, Bring Me The Horizon, Linkin Park, Iron Maiden, Frank Carter & The Rattlesankes, Architects, Deftones and Metallica, who are sponsors of the event this year and also have their own release, as well as many many more artists through many genres.

You can have a look at the long list of UK Record Store Day releases at and the US releases at We think we are going to spending a lot of money...

So... to get us excited for this year, we're taking a look back at what we remember buying from last years event!

Foo Fighters – Songs From The Laundry Room

How could we forget the opportunity to purchase a rare four track EP from the modern day Kings of Rock themselves? The EP featured songs recorded in the 90’s and even includes ‘Alone + Easy Target’, which was originally pitched to Nirvana before it was re-recorded for the first Foos album.
