We’re no strangers to mash-ups of tracks here, but sometimes something that absolutely wouldn’t work on paper surprises you by being pretty damn good.
Such is the case with this mash-up of industrial metal posterboys Nine Inch Nails and currently-fucking-everywhere Taylor Swift, put together by talented YouTuber ‘Isosine’.
It features NINs classic ‘The Perfect Drug’, taken from the soundtrack to David Lynch’s movie Lost Highway combined with Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’, from her most recent studio album 1989.
NIN mastermind Trent Reznor’s angsty, smokey vocals have some of their seriousness taken away by Swift’s bouncy rhythms, but the video’s creator has achieved the impossible by making them work so well together.
