It’s crazy to think that it’s been almost two months since Tom DeLonge quit Blink-182… Or got kicked out, it really depends on who you ask for that one. Thankfully though, this didn’t mean the end to their touring for the foreseeable future. Instead of throwing in the towel and saying, “that’s it we’re done, let’s stop again”, they brought in the fantastic front man to Alkaline Trio, Matt Skiba to fill in.
They have now played their first live show of this tour with Matt. The show took place in Roxy, West Hollywood, and with absolutely everything else these days, soon videos were sprouting everywhere of the band playing together. They played a fairly sizeable 24 track set-list. Of which you can check out below, and honestly, it doesn’t look like they miss him. More importantly though, it doesn’t seem like the fans are that bothered either, with all of them happy to fill completely pack out this small venue and check out what of the defining pop-punk bands still.
The set-list for the show at Roxy, West Hollywood was as follows:
Feeling This
What’s My Age Again?
The Rock Show
Up All Night
Going Away to College
Down
I Miss You
Happy Holidays, You Bastard
Dumpweed
Wendy Clear
Always
Don’t Leave Me
Easy Target
First Date
Heart’s All Gone
Dysentery Gary
Skulls (Misfits cover)
All the Small Things
Man Overboard
Reckless Abandon
Carousel
Encore:
Violence
Dammit
Family Reunion
What happens with Matt Skiba and the rest of Blink’s relationship post-tour isn’t clear as of yet, and we won’t exactly know in the near future. Saying that though, Travis Barker has already expressed his desire to possibly even write a new album with Matt in the future, but we’ll see.
Did Matt hold his own while being thrown into the deep end? We think so, but don’t just take our word for it check out the fan shot video of them performing ‘Down‘ below:
