Sonisphere 2014 Highlights | Live Review

Take a look to see what we thought of some of the acts that performed at Sonisphere UK 2014. We consider some of the bands that surprised us, what do you think?

British rockers Canterbury might not be you’d usually expect at a festival like Sonisphere, but when they took to the Bohemia stage in the early afternoon on Friday they managed to draw quite a large crowd who seemed to appreciate the band’s self-coined ‘sweet rock’. Managing to do everything that is expected of a band that plays early, Canterbury in no way struggled to get the audience hyped up, by mentioning the later appearance of American nu metallers Limp Bizkit, and delivering a stellar set filled with classic tracks such as ‘Gloria’ and more contemporary ones like their latest single, ‘Satellite’. It might have been their first time performing at a festival as large as Sonisphere, but they managed to own it by doing their thing and not bowing under the pressure of being in surroundings that might not be what they’re used to.
