People waiting for the announcement of the ‘Isle of Wight’ festival Friday main stage headliner, need wait no longer. HTF can finally reveal it’s none other than the legendary ‘Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’. It will be the first time they have played a major show in the UK in nearly 20 Years. The band from Gainesville, Florida will be taking to the stage and preforming a selection from their catalogue of hits including; ‘American Girl’, ‘Learning to Fly’ and ’Refugee’. In a career that spans the decades they have filled arenas, performed sellout shows and won awards. With such music legends headlining, the ‘Isle of Wight’ festival is going to be bigger than ever.
Along with ‘Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ will be ‘Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’, they will be headlining the main stage on Sunday. Other acts confirmed include; ‘Elbow’, ‘Example’, ‘Noah & the Whale’, ‘Biffy Clyro’, ‘Madness’, ‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ and ‘The Vaccines’. Tickets are currently on sale at £190 for adult weekend camping and £95 for kids (aged between 7-12), non-camping tickets are also available at £160 and £80 respectively and kids 6 and under can get a free ticket.
