After the release of their acoustic debut EP ‘The White’ Riots are back and have developed from acoustic singer song writer Tommy Lynam (former drummer of Pegasus Bridge) simplistic sound to a full band.

Tommy: It was a demo from a song, I always thought it would sound good as a band track, so I took it to a rehearsal and it sounded great. We recorded it to see how the band sounded in the studio and it turned out really well.
HTF: You have come from Pegasus Bridge to an acoustic act to a full band sound, how did this progression happen?
T: The end of Pegasus Bridge was a draining experience, I didn’t write anything musically for about a year, but it was nice finding myself again. I just got an acoustic guitar and put pen to paper, which led to a few open mic nights and the response was great. I wanted to release a few tracks to get back in the game again. ‘The White’ EP was a great launch pad to show I wasn’t just a drummer in a indie pop band, there is a lot more to me and my music. I missed the live energy of a band so called up a few friends who I knew could really compliment the song ideas and bring them to life. That’s where we’re at with ‘Start Again’, it’s a preview of what’s to come.
HTF: Can we expect another EP in the New Year?
T: We are going into the studio next week to record an EP, we’re all very excited about it.
HTF: What are Riots’ plans for 2014? Any tours planned at all?
T: The EP will be out in the spring, followed by a few live dates, we can’t wait to take these songs on the road, it’s where I learnt my craft and I’m excited to show you a new part of myself, a side of me which has not been seen before.
