Following this morning’s court hearing, Lostprophets front-man Ian Watkins is sentenced to 35 years in prison, having pled guilty to child sex offences.

The judge told Watkins he received “evident delight” by engaging in sexual activity with children and said, “I have no hesitation in concluding there is a serious risk to the public.”

Watkins two co-defendants, who cannot be named due to legal reasons, will also face time. Woman A has been sentenced to 14 years in prison, however is entilted to one third discount due to her early plea of guilty, and Women B will face 17 years.

Mr Justice Royce said: “I am satisfied that you are a deeply corrupting influence. You are highly manipulative. You are a sexual predator. You are dangerous. The public, and in particular young females and children, need protection from you.”

Inside the court Watkins was said to be shaking, with a shout saying, “Hang the bastard.” The singer will have to serve two thirds of the 35 year sentence before he can be considered for release.
