Kents favourite Rock/Punk/Metal/Alternative festival is changing location this year. Port Lympne Wild Animal Park announced today that the festival would not be held on it’s grasslands this year. Although the organisers were originally looking to rent the area for the fourth year running, no agreement or contract has been made.
The festival has grown year on year from a one day event back in 2009 to this years 3 day weekender. Festival director James Dutton has announced that a new venue has been found. “Hevy is definitely still going ahead. We are still going to be in Kent, on the same dates in August. I have spent the last six months looking at new venues, and we have one lined up, but we are still sorting contracts so I can’t reveal it yet. I can say it is closer to London”.
We’re definitely looking forward to hearing what the new venue is as Hevy has become a firm favourite for us as one of the best up and coming smaller alternative music festivals, along with the likes of Slam Dunk and Hit The Deck.
