Groezrock – arguably Europe’s finest alternative music festival, has just announced its first details of next years lineup.
So it goes without further ado that the Friday night headliner will be none other than legendary and highly influential Swedish hardcore punk group Refused!
In an official statement made by the festival’s organisers, they had this to say about Refused’s inclusion on the bill :
“When we said you’d have to wait until Dec 1st to get the first names for Groezrock 2015, we lied.
Just like that one Swedish band that said “We’re fucking dead” a while ago, before bringing the whole tent down in 2012. And now, they’re back for more!”
Refused are one of the most important bands in modern hardcore and punk music, with their genre bending and game changing album The Shape Of Punk To Come, which was released back in 1998. They reformed back in 2012 much to the surprise of the entire punk community for some much applauded reunion shows. But in a recent article, the band indicated that they will be concentrating on a new album. So this set promises to be one of the talking points of the festival, especially with the prospect of new material!
