It has been announced that Iron Maiden front-man Bruce Dickinson will star in a re-enactment of a WWI style dog fight over the Sonisphere festival at Knebworth.
The 12 minute show takes place to commemorate those who lost their lives in such fights and will involve pilots alongside Dickinson himself, performing the incredible and daring manoeuvres in replica planes used by pilots during the conflict.
Dickinson, a qualified commercial airline pilot, will perform just hours before taking to the stage for Iron maiden’s headline set in his own Fokker DR1 Triplane – a model used by German expert pilot Manfred von Richthofen.
Sonisphere will take place July 4th-6th at Knebworth Park with The Prodigy taking the headline position on Friday, Iron Maiden on Saturday and Metallica closing the festival on Sunday.
