Derbyshire’s heavy-metal festival Bloodstock have announced that the third and final headliner will be… (drumroll) Machine Head!

The Oakland metal giants will be joining Alice Cooper and Behemoth at the open air festival which will take place between the 9th and 12th August.

This is the band’s first headlining slot at a UK festival and will see them playing to 12,000 metalheads on the main stage, named after the departed rock legend Ronnie James Dio.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Machine Head‘s first ever live performance, ticket holders will be given the opportunity to vote for the five songs off the bands debut album ‘Burn My Eyes‘ that they want to hear.

Other acts confirmed to play Bloodstock are ‘Hatebreed‘, ‘Black Dahlia Murder‘ and ‘Dimmu Borgir‘ among many others.
