Pop singer Selena Gomez has cancelled a series of tour dates in Australia that were due in February 2014.
The singer has cut her tour short to focus on making herself a “better person” after spending years “putting work first”.
The US singer made the announcement in a statement to People magazine. “My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them,” she said. “But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be.”
“To my fans, I sincerely apologise and I hope you guys know how much each and every one of you mean to me,” Gomez said.
Gomez released her album ‘Stars Dance’ in 2013, with lead single ‘Come & Get It’ peaking at number six in the US Billboard Hot 100.
