Last night, the MTV Video Music Awards took place at The Forum in Inglewood, California and offered a huge roster of star performances.
It was a good night for the ladies as Miley Cyrus took home the award for Video of the Year with ‘Wrecking Ball‘ whilst the dressed-in-denim Katy Perry won Best Female Video for her Egyptian epic ‘Dark Horse‘.
Opening performer Ariana Grande debuted a live performance of new single ‘Break Free‘ before having success winning the Best Pop Video accolade for ‘Problem‘ featuring Iggy Azalea. Best Rock Video however went to Lorde with ‘Royals‘, Lorde being the only female nominated in that category.
Ed Sheeran won Best Male Video for ‘Sing‘ and Aussie band 5 Seconds of Summer won the award for Best Lyric Video with ‘Don’t Stop‘.
It was also a great night for Beyonce, who performed a medley of her entire visual album and then took home the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
