His publicist Deborah Robicheau has confirmed that the Manchester born lead singer died of a massive heart attack this morning in his home in Indiantown, Flordia.
The Monkees were an American pop band, who formed in 1966. They had an illustrious career with great success and made a big name for themselves in pop, all around the world. Famous for their clean cut look, and marketed as the American version of The Beatles, they enjoyed their time in the lime-light which was through both music, and a very successful TV series in both the US and the UK.
