A statue of the late Amy Winehouse is to be erected in Camden.
The tribute to the singer will be placed in the Stables Market area of her hometown. About the news, her father Mitch said in a statement: “Amy was in love with Camden and it is the place her fans from all over the world associate her with. The family have always been keen to have a memorial for her in the place she loved the most, which will provide fans a place to visit and attract people to the area.”
Winehouse died of alcohol poisoning in 2011, following years of battling with alcohol and drugs addiction.
The statue will be unveiled to the public on 14 September, on what would have been Amy’s 31st Birthday.
