Adele’s ‘21’ has topped the iTunes best-sellers chart for the second year running.
The album’s continuing success has been put down to the singer’s success at this year’s Grammys, with wins in six categories.
Adele also received nominations for Screen Actors Guild and Golden Globe awards this year, for her sultry Bond theme in ‘Skyfall’.
Taylor Swift’s ‘Red’ placed second, despite only being released in October. ‘Babel’ (Mumford & Sons) came third, followed by One Direction’s ‘Up All Night’ and the phenomenal ‘Some Nights’ from Fun.
Emile Sande’s debut offering topped the UK best-sellers list for 2012, rounding off an incredible year for the singer, with performances at the Olympic opening and closing ceremonies, and the X Factor final.
‘Our Version of Events’ has sold more than one million copies since its release back in February, beating Ed Sheeran and Lana Del Rey who came second and third in the UK charts respectively.
Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Maybe’ was best single of the year, followed by Goyte’s ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’, Fun.’s ‘We Are Young’, ‘Payphone’ by Maroon 5 and Nicki Minaj’s ‘Starships’.
