The NME Awards Tour kicks off today in Newcastle!
The Mercury-nominated Django Django will headline the tour, with support from the charismatic Miles Kane and Palma Violets, who shot to fame in 2012 and are currently working with Pulp bassist Steve Mackey on their debut album.
The tour’s prestigious opening slot is being filled by Birmingham’s Peace, who received high praise for their debut EP ‘Delicious‘ and have recently toured with Manic Street Preachers and Mystery Jets.
“2012 has been an incredible year for music, and 2013 promises to be even better, not least for Django Django, Miles Kane, Palma Violets and Peace, the four amazing bands heading up the NME Awards Tour 2013,” said NME editor Mike Williams.
“This is undoubtedly one of the strongest and most exciting bills we’ve ever put together, and I can’t wait for it all to get started!”
The tour has been instrumental in launching the careers of some of the biggest names on the music scene today, including Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, and Florence + the Machine.
