So seems by the looks of things the rumours were true. The Cure will be returning to england for a headline show at this years Reading and Leeds festivals (24th-26th Aug). Joining them are the likes of Foo Fighters, Kasabian, Florence and the Machine, The Cribs and The Mystery Jets.
Recent years have seen The Libertines, Pulp and Muse entertain the crowds and this years line up doesn’t really stray from that formula (although no reformations this year!).
The Cure will headline the Friday lineup at Reading (Saturday at Leeds), Joining them on the Main Stage are Paramore, Crystal Castles (whom Robert Smith has collaborated with in the past) and Bombay Bicycle Club. On the Radio 1/NME stage that night are The Maccabees, Foster the People and The Courteeners.
Saturday sees Kasabian take the top spot with Florence and the Machine, The Vaccines and Mystery Jets joining the Main Stage lineup. The Radio 1/NME tent plays host to At The Drive In and The Cribs while the Dance Stage features Metronomy and Katy B.
Topping the festival icing on Sunday are The Foo Fighters along with The Black Keys, Kaiser Chiefs and Eagles of Death Metal. Justice, Two Door Cinema Club and The Horrors will be doing the closing honours on the Radio 1/NME stage.
