The Rolling Stones pay tribute to Bobby Womack.

The Rolling Stones took to their official website to pay tribute to the late great singer songwriter.

The Rolling Stones have paid tribute to the late  singer/songwriter Bobby Womack and has quoted him as being ‘a huge influence’ on the band.

A message posted to the band’s official website on the 28th June stated:

He was a true pioneer of soul and R&B, whose voice and songwriting touched millions. On stage, his presence was formidable. His talents put him up there with the greats. We will remember him, first and foremost, as a friend.’

The band covered the Valentino’s release ‘It’s All Over Now’ in 1964 which peaked at number one in the UK Singles Chart.

Bobby Womack passed away on Friday, the cause of death has not been confirmed however Womack suffered from Alzheimers and cancer in the past.
