The surviving members of The Beatles Came Together (get it?) to perform at the 56th Grammy Awards at the weekend; Paul and Ringo played ‘Queenie Eye’, a song from McCartney’s recent solo record ‘New’ at the Los Angeles’ Staple Centre.
It’s rare to see Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr sharing a stage these days; the last time was back in 2009 when they performed at a benefit concert organised by film director David Lynch.
The performance marked 50 years since The Beatles’ career-making appearance on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show’; to celebrate this landmark, a TV tribute called ‘The Beatles: The Night That Changed America – A Grammy Salute’, will be broadcast on the 9th February, 50 years to the day, and in the same timeslot on CBS.
