Nick Cave Beats Arctic Monkeys At Ivor Novello Awards

Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds beat Arctic Monkeys to the Album Award

Tonight saw the 59th Ivor Novello awards take place in London this afternoon with the Arctic Monkeys and their incredible album AM being beaten in the Album Award category by Nick Cave And The bad Seeds’ impressive  ‘Push The Sky Away.’

Speaking at the ceremony Cave stated that of all the awards, this was the one that he wanted to win, thanking Warren Ellis, who joined Cave in accepting the award, for his co writing expertise.

Other winners of the award ceremony were Mumford And Sons who claimed a Best Contemporary Song award, The Chemical Brothers for an Outstanding Song Collection prize and Christine McVie, having recently rejoined Fleetwood Mac, picked up the Lifetime Achievement award.
