Mick Jagger has stated that he believes Metallica’s Glastonbury headline set will be “great”.
Having headlined the festival last year with The Rolling Stones, Jagger is backing the festival’s first metal headliner to be a massive hit.
“I’ve seen them live and they’re going to be great,” Jagger told The Sun, going on to speak of how they had a “great time” playing the festival last year, with it being the reason why they signed up for more festivals this summer.
In contrast to Jagger’s comments, Alex Turner, who also headlined the festival last year with the Arctic Monkeys stated: “I’m not sure it adds up. I know we’d buzz off it, but fundamentally could you have Metallica in the hippy nucleus?”
Following the death of Jagger’s girlfriend L’Wren Scott, the Stones resumed their European tour with a sell-out show at Oslo’s Telenor Arena.
