After 16 years as a band, a story published in ‘The Sun on Sunday’ has said Keane have announced they are splitting.
The band’s spokesperson, however, has suggested they are simply taking a break, after releasing their new ‘Best Of’ album, in order for lead singer Tom Chaplin to make a solo album and for songwriter Tim Rice-Oxley to focus on writing tracks for other artists.
Each of the band’s four albums has reached number 1 in the UK album charts and their success has seen them win two Brit Awards and an Ivor Novello.
‘The Best Of Keane’ will be released on November 11 and features 20 tracks including two brand new songs ‘Higher Than The Sun’ and ‘Won’t Be Broken’. Keane are set to play an intimate gig at the Forum in Tonbridge Wells this Friday (October 25th).
