John Frusciante And Omar Rodríguez-López’s New Band Release First Track

Kimono Kult, the band belonging to John Frusciante and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez have released their first music. Have a listen here!

Kimono Kult, the new band of Ex-Red Hot Chili Pepper John Frusciante and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez of At The Drive-In and Mars Volta, have released their first track.

The track, ‘Todos Menos El Dolor’, (which you can listen to below) will appear on their debut EP ‘Hiding In The Light’, which is due for release on March 4.

Teri Gender Bender of Le Butcherettes is also a member of the band, and the singer said of the EP “Kimono Kult approaches the music in a completely original way, allowing for the imagination to flow. The lyric to ‘Todo Menos el Dolor’ is for the listener’s imagination. Spanish speaking or not, it goes way beyond language and [is] more about atmosphere. To me it could be a story about an alien that wanted to eat cats but it caused the critter so much pain [that] he became a vegetarian. Every interpretation is valid.”

The ‘Hiding In The Light’ tracklisting is:

‘Todo Menos El Dolor’
‘Las Esposas’
‘La Vida Es Una Caja Hermosa’
‘La Cancion De Alejandra’
