Steve Lamacq hits the nail on the head when calling Hey Sholay’s new single “one of the most infectious pieces of indie pop we’ve heard in months”. The boys you see above eating the dodgy looking spagetti are Hey Sholay, a five piece group of musicians, film-makers and artists from Sheffield and Leeds projecting psychedelic independent pop whilst conjuring up contemporary anthemic choruses, bright, vibrant tunes and fresh vocals.
Their latest single ‘Burning’ exudes all of these things and its home-made DIY video is a creation that reflects the band’s oddball style. As well as opening for Dry The River on the NME Awards Tour earlier this year the band have also been busy playing Live At Leeds, Camden Crawl, The Great Escape and Liverpool Sound City.
Check out their upcoming tour dates and watch the video for ‘Burning’ below.
‘Burning’ is released on June 11th through Fierce Panda and the official London launch for the release takes place at London’s Buffalo Bar on June 12th! Their debut album ‘((O))’ is released this September.
