Fleetwood Mac‘s music sales have increased following Christine McVie’s announcement that she is rejoining the iconic group on NBC’s Today show on March 27, NME reports.

The band’s portfolio of albums was reported to have sold 10,000 copies in the last week of March, compared to 8,000 the week previous, according to Nielsen SoundScan, which monitors US album sales. It noted a 33% increase in Fleetwood Mac music sales following their appearance on NBC.

Their ‘Greatest Hits’ album had the highest rise, re-entering the Billboard 200 at No. 200, whilst their best-selling single for the week was ‘Landslide’.

McVie left the band in 1998, have been part of the group for 28 years and was the songwriter behind songs such as ‘Say You Love Me’, ‘You Make Loving Fun’, ‘Everywhere’ and ‘Little Lies’.

The five-piece group, now composed of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie and Stevie Nicks are touring in September 2014, which will be the first time all of them have toured together since 1998.

The group allegedly hope to record a new album together, which will be the first album featuring all five members since ‘Tango In The Night’, released in 1987.
