Flaming Lips Win April Fools Day

Oklahoman oddballs The Flaming Lips have arguably won this years April Fool’s day with an elaborate multi-platform ruse. Find out everything here.

Oklahoma based rockers The Flaming Lips have astounded the music press and fans alike with a ballsy April Fools gambit.

Things began with their release of ‘Flaming Side of the Moon’, a companion piece that supposedly syncs up to Pink Floyd’s 1973 opus ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ as well as the 1939 film edition of The Wizard of Oz.

April 1st saw humour website Funny Or Die coming out as the ‘producers’ of the album, and that it was the first step in the bands plan to finally ‘sell out’.

The website then released videos featuring information on the band’s spoof film collaboration with Michael Bay and a studio session for ‘Flaming Side …’.

Needless to say, it’s all quite mad. Check out the album stream and videos below.
