Sylver Tongue, the new musical project from former Ash guitarist Charlotte Hatherley will release their debut single, ‘Creatures’, on May 21.
Made with producer James Rutledge (Producer for Fever Ray, Everything Everything), the track follows free download track ‘Hook You Up’,the video of which you can see below. Hatherley revealed the new project is inspired by the likes of Japan, Tom Tom Club and Talking Heads. Sylver Tongue play London’s Shacklewell Arms and The Waiting Room on April 14 and April 28 respectively.
Last year, Hatherley played her first shows with former Ash in five years as they played their ‘Free All Angels’ anniversary tour in October in which the band played the 2001 album in full. She initially joined the band in 1997 before her departure on amicable terms in January 2006 making three albums with the band in the process. Since leaving Ash she has released three solo albums and has played in the touring bands for KT Tunstall and Bat For Lashes.
