Beady Eye On Replacing Blur At Big Day Out

Liam Gallagher and co have spoken out about the line-up reshuffle for Australia/New Zealand based Big Day Out Festival. Find out what was said inside.

Beady Eye have been slated to replace Blur at this year’s Big Day Out Festival dates. Late last year Blur cited the disorganised nature of the festival as the reason for pulling out. They were promptly replaced by Beady Eye, The Hives and Deftones, with ticket holders being offered a full refund if they were less than satisfied with the substitutions.

When asked how they felt about replacing Oasis’ former Britpop rivals, drummer Chris Sharrock stated that ‘It’s no big deal … that was all a hundred years ago, wasn’t it? We’re just glad to be out and going somewhere … This opportunity came in at the last minute. We’ve always wanted to play Big Day Out.’

Big Day Out kicks off January 17th in Auckland, New Zealand, before rolling on to Australia, hitting  Carrara, Flemington, Sydney, Adelaide and Claremont.
