Arcade Fire continued their tour-long tradition of playing region-specific covers on Thursday night (August 14).
Whilst performing in Winnipeg, Canada, they tackled Neil Young’s ‘Come On Baby, Let’s Go Downtown.’ Although Young was not born in the area, he frequently played there at the beginning of his career.
This is not the first time the band’s Win Butler has honoured the Canadian singer-songwriter – last year Butler played ‘I Dreamed a Neil Young Song’ with him at the Bridge School Benefit.
On their current ‘Reflektor‘ tour, Arcade Fire have also covered Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ in Washington, and paid tribute to Back to the Future star Michael J. Fox by performing a version of the film’s theme.
