First established in London’s West End in 2012 with a view to transforming the local area’s clubbing landscape, HOUSEKEEPING — created by a group of four ambitious DJ/producers Sebastian Macdonald-Hall, Carl Waxberg, Jacobi AGC and Taylor McWilliams – have gone on to take Ibiza by storm since first arriving on the island in 2013.
Their residency at Blue Marlin Ibiza entered its third year this season and had become one of the island’s go-to day parties, and, boosted by events in London — their parties at KOKO in March and May were both sell-outs, with another showcase scheduled for October — the brand continues to flourish.
With success in hand, HOUSEKEEPING has also made appearances in Rakkan, Mykonos and closed the Bollywood stage at this year’s Bestival.
We catch-up with the promoters to discover their top 5 tips on running a successful night.
1. Music & Sound
“Most important is the music and subsequently the sound system. As an artist putting on the event, this will always be the number one priority.”
“We live in a world where boundaries are always pushed, and we are spoilt with so many options. Our senses have been overwhelmed in a gluttonous way, so we need to keep innovating and offering something new.”
“Positive atmosphere – we have never had an angry or unfriendly atmosphere at a housekeeping party, and this is something we pride ourselves on.”
4. A good team
“Our operations team are well drilled and work extremely hard to offer the best in organisation and service. You can’t avoid some things going wrong but as a team, they are always ready and equipped to resolve any situation from tech issues to security, and everything in between.”
“Enjoy it!! The energy we give off enjoying our nights spreads to our customers. It is so important for me to see the DJ truly lost in his music and enjoyed every second of it.”
