Disco pioneer Nile Rodgers has been confirmed as a collaborator on the new Daft Punk album ‘Random Access Memories’.
In the third episode of ‘The Collaborators‘ series, the Chic frontman talks in depth about his music and about working with the French duo.
“They’ve come to a place that’s beyond where they started and they have evolved,” said Rodgers, talking about working with the pair.
“I feel like I’m working with people who grew up with me and who feel it the same way we felt the vibe when we were creating this stuff. It’s like they went back to go forward.”
The final minute of the video features Rodgers playing a guitar riff against one of the album tracks.
Giorgio Moroder and Todd Edwards will also appear on the album, which will be released on Tuesday, May 21, through Daft Life Records.
The album playback event at Australia’s Wee Waa agricultural show on Friday, May 17, sold out in just 26 minutes!
Those of us not lucky enough to be there will still be able to stream the viewing online – we’ll have more details on where to watch it later, but until then check out Episode 3 of ‘The Collaborators’ below!
