One of the largest illegal pressing plants in Europe has been discovered in Germany. The police have seized numbers of DVDs, Vinyls and CDs all being pressed there.
The police discovered the plant after a two year investigation. It has seen properties in Aschaffenburg and Hessen, a federal state, raided with a large amount of goods being seized.
It’s also reported that an investigation has been launched against the individual alleged who have been reproducing copyrighted material on audio and visual.
Believe it or not there is still high demand for these physical goods rather than it all being digital. Dr. Florian Drücke, CEO of the German Federal Music Industry Association, said: “With a market share of about 70 percent, there is still a high demand for CDs in Germany.”
“The equipment found here demonstrates once again that this is not the work of petty criminals, but of professional organizations whose criminal activities inflict massive damage on artists and the recording industry.”
