HTF Acts To Watch Out For In 2012: Zedd

It’s that time of year again, where we at Hit The Floor tell you who we think are going to be big this year. Hopefully at the end of the year we are right and the artists we have put our faith into haven’t let us down. Last year, I placed all my bets on Skrillex and One Direction (I’m not fully sure why I picked the latter!) and that turned out well, so let’s see if I can get it right in 2012 with Zedd.

Zedd has a huge musical background he is a master of many an instrument after being born into a family of musicians which has helped him become one of the most talented and sort after producers and musicians in the world. Zedd has been busy bubbling away in the background since 2009 when he began producing electro music. Since then he was worked and remixed some huge names including Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, P. Diddy, Skrillex, Fatboy Slim and Armand Van Helden. With a small number of releases over the past few years it’s easy to catch up on Zedd’s back catalog and find that piece of your life that has been missing all this time. If I had to pick just one of his tracks to sell him to you it would be his Legend Of Zelda (which of course you can find below). Mixing one of the greatest video games series ever with pumping eletro beats is the fastest way into my heart, and I’m not going to lie, my pants! Zedd’s unique and highly distinguishable style which is fresh, different and very arousing. I’m inspired by him greatly from the way he uses his synths and samples video games and isn’t afraid to shy away from pop music. 2012 has already been a busy year for Zedd with his latest single Slam The Door already charting on Beatport hours after release and an album set to be unleashed on the world in February. Sadly at the moment there are no confirmed UK tour dates and only one festival date in europe, hopefully this will change.
