The Dance Music Industry Valued $6.2 Billion

Ever wondered what the value of the electronic music movement is? According to a report from The International Music Summit, the global dance music industry has been valued at $6.2 Billion. Seriously.

The latest report issued by the International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza has valued the global dance music industry at $6.2 billion.  Association for Electronic Music (AFEM) has calculated an $2.2 billion increase on last years worth.

Taking into account figures such as festival revenue ($1.03 billion), global club shows ($2.4 billion) and value from SoundCloud ($140 million). Las Vegas’ growing Dance music following and shows added a whole $800 million. Streaming/video services were valued at $600 million, sales of DJ software and hardware at $360 million, and DJ earnings outside of music at $60 million.

Recently Calvin Harris was valued at £30 Million putting him second on The Sunday Times‘ rich list of musicians under 30 and 4th richest celebrity according to Forbes.
