Benin City – Faithless (Featuring remixes by Zed Bias and Slugabed) (Audio)

Benin City (the London trio of an electronic-bass persuasion – not the Nigerian state capital) have a new track out – and its a sumptuous mix of  haunting chords and distorted sounds.  ‘Faithless‘ is the first single to be taken off debut album ‘Fires in The Park‘ dropping on July 1st.

Benin Boys Theo, Tom and Joshua manage to work in total perfect harmony creating a sound that has been described as the ‘lovechild of SBTRKT and Tv On The Radio‘ and you wouldn’t be far wrong! Joshua Idenhen’s vocals and slow and lazy – in the best way, a drawl filled with pain and soul. Theo’s drums are syncopated and induce an almost tropical vibe to the track, whilst Tom’s sax interjections take the track to a whole new level. Mixed and produced by Marc Pell from Michachu and The Shapes the track is more than ready to fill your local indie dancefloor. Have a listen below…

And what’s more Faithless has benefitted from remixed by Zed Bias and Slugabed. Of course Zed Bias has whipped the track up into a frenzy creating a new sound completely detached from the original. Slugabed has created a much slower version of the track – a bit more playful it the way it uses sounds. Either way – they’re both pretty good – check them out below…
