With his new album ‘Forget The World’ just about to be released, AfroJack played some new tracks from the album in London a few days ago. His new is album is quite different from what we are used to hearing from the creative DJ. This album is something he wanted to do that he or anyone else hasn’t tried and wanted to make it a personal experience for himself.
Unfortunately this comes on the heels of recent comments, as several top stars saying EDM is running out of ideas. AfroJack spoke to MixMag and noted that : “If a DJ or producer feels that he ran out of ideas, that does not mean the entire scene has“.
The new album is popping with several top chart collaborators such as Matthew Koma and Shirazi. If you think they are hot, it gets even better and vastly more varied!
There is Snoop Dogg who joins in on a track called ‘Dynamite’, and ‘Too Wild’ with Wiz Khalifa and Devin Cruise. Those two hip hop artists alone make the album very head-turning indeed, but then there is ‘Catch Tomorrow’ with Sting, and ‘Three Strikes’ with Jack McManus!
It seems as though AfroJack has indeed done what he has set out to do, a different type of EDM album, and we cannot wait to hear it.! ‘Forget The World’ is out now on Wall Recordings!
