Katie Holmes is set to appear as Ryan Reynold’s on-screen wife in the upcoming BBC World War II film ‘Woman in Gold’ directed by Simon Curtis
The film will be a biopic following the struggle of Maria Altmann, a Jewish refugee involved in a 1980s legal battle to reacquire five paintings by Gustav Klimt stolen by the Nazis, which includes the titular ‘The Lady in Gold’.
Tatiana Maslany, star of BBC3’s acclaimed Orphan Black, will portray a young Maria whilst the magnificent Dame Helen Mirram has been cast as the present-day lead.
Reynolds appears as Maria’s lawyer Randy Schoenberg. Although Reynold’s character understand little about art, he takes on the case much to Maria’s elation.
Filming began on 23rd May and is expected to continue for eight weeks on location in the UK, US and Austria.
