Hip-Hop Drama Empire Comes To E4! | Sponsored

Let the battle for the music world begin!

This Tuesday (April 28th) will finally be the time for the UK to experience the awesomeness that is, Empire. Well, unless you have been already illegally downloading the episodes in which case you already know what people are missing out on.

Empire has just wrapped up its first season in the US and has fast become one of the highest rated programmes on the Fox Network. This hip-hop based drama follows the story of music industry CEO Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) who, after being diagnosed with a horrible illness, has to then make the decision of which of his three sons will take over his reign. All is thrown up in air though as Lucious’ ex-wife Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) appears fresh from prison to claim her share and the battle for who will take all begins.

The series was created by Lee Daniels (The Butler) and Danny Strong (former Buffy The Vampire Slayer star and screenwriter for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay).

Also involved in the show is rap/producer star, Timbaland, along with producer Jim Beanz. Together they have produced the orignal soundtrack for the show and it has been so successful it even topped the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop album chart in the US!

With cameos along the way from stars such as Snoop Dogg, Estelle, Courtney Love, Naomi Campbell and many, many more, Empire is sure to be a be a huge hit here in the UK and you can tune in tomorrow (April 28th) at 9pm on E4 to get stuck in.
