In the final episode of the series, another twist occurred in the Big Brother house as it was revealed that Helen Wood was the winner.

The controversial character beat bittersweet friend/enemy Ashleigh Coyle in the final (after the two became the first women to be Big Brother finalists).

Helen Wood had immunity from every eviction and was granted a pass to the final in the very first week of the show and has now won the £100,o00 prize.

Sixth and fifth placed respectively Pav Paul and  Chris Wright left the house together, before been joined on the outside world by Ash Harrison who came fourth and eventually Christopher Hall  in third.

During her interview with host Emma Willis, Helen said: ‘I can’t believe it, Ashleigh was the winner‘.

Speaking of the controversial behaviour, she said:  ‘I’m completely over the top, out of order on many occasions, but when I argue with people they are constantly making remarks at me. Sometimes I just take it too far,’

The difference between the two finalist was just over 1%, runner-up Ashleigh had nothing but kind words for Helen following her exit.

Our differences were so big that they stood out straight away before we realised we had lots of similarities,‘ the 18-year old said.

I’m over the moon for her now, and glad we sorted things out. I know me and Helen would get on fine in the outside world.

Celebrity Big Brother returns on Monday 18 August at 9:05pm on Channel 5.
