World War Z Sequel Has A Writer

Steven Knight is on board to direct sequel to 2013’s zombie thriller World War Z

Source: World War ZThe sequel to last year’s flawed but entertaining zombie thriller World War Z already has a director in the form of Juan Antonio Bayona and it now has a confirmed writer.

Steven Knight, director and writer of 2013’s Locke, will be undertaking the task of continuing the story of World War Z from the last film.

Knight’s most recent project Locke released to positive reception and he has proven experience with the likes of Eastern Promises and Dirty Pretty Things but the World War Z sequel is sure to be a grander and more challenging project. Loosely based on the novel of the same name by Max Brooks and starring Brad Pitt, the globe-trotting thriller impressed audiences with its fast-paced action and intelligent plot. Pitt looks set to return as the main man in the sequel with no other casting information revealed as of yet.

Knight also has an untitled World War II script in the works which Pitt could be interested in while Bayona is currently working on A Monsters Call. There is no release date for World War Z yet but don’t expect it until 2016.
