According to Badass Digest, it seems the upcoming Star Trek 3 could see the return of William Shatner once again as James Tiberius Kirk.
Apparently Roberto Orci has made it his mission to reunite Shatner with the franchise, after an earlier attempt to include him within the first film failed. However there is now said to be a newly written scene in which Shatner and Leonard Nimoy appear together as Kirk and Spock.
If Orci gets what he wants, it will mark the first time the pair have appeared together in Star Trek since 1991 and would surely be a fortunate coincidence with the franchise’s fiftieth anniversary.
Star Trek 3 is set for release in 2016, with Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto set to return as younger versions of the characters.
