Not too long ago Hit The Floor reported that two Jungle Book remakes were due to hit our cinema screens with John Favreau directing for Disney’s version and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu at the helm for the version by Warner Bros. With these two cinema giants releasing remakes of the same film at the same time the competition was always going to be fierce.
Now, due to scheduling difficulties, Warner Bros have lost Inarritu as their director which will now no doubt slow down production of their version. Disney now already have a release date of October 9, 2015 and so look set to beat Warner Bros to the screen. If this happens, Warner Bros may well suffer a dip in box office sales as audiences become jaded from different versions of the same story.
No doubt more drama will unfold as the rivalry continues.
