At the turn of the year, Quentin Tarantino announced that he was abandoning his next movie, a western titled The Hateful Eight, due to one of the six people that he gave it to read allegedly leaking the script on the internet. He claimed that he may come back to it in the future, by using it to write a book, but insisted that it definitely wouldn’t be his next film.
Today however, he has made a huge U-turn because it looks as though now he has changed his mind. This has arisen off of the back of a live reading in LA last month with various Tarantino regulars, including Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen and Walton Goggins.
Such was the response from the audience that the director has decided that he may well be proceeding with The Hateful Eight after all. He even tested some of the action in front of the watching crowd to see how it played out.
Initial reports talked of a November shoot this year, but Tarantino was quoted over the weekend that he had “calmed down” over the production. Hopefully this will be his next film and we will keep you posted with any further developments.
